In the early hours of March 12, 2013, the two Sudans' negotiating teams came to agreement on an implementation matrix, outlining a framework for compliance with obligations outlined in the September 27, 2012 cooperation agreements.
Security Arrangements Timeline Brokered
On March 8, 2013 the two Sudans' Joint Political and Security Mechanism reached agreement on implementation modalities for their September 2012 cooperation agreement on security arrangements.

South Sudan's Parliament Ratifies Cooperation Agreement
South Sudan took a key step towards implementation today, when its parliament ratified the cooperation agreement, endorsing all eight constituent agreements.

"The Republic of South Sudan and the Republic of Sudan on Thursday September 27, 2012 signed the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement under the auspices of the African Union High Implementation Panel (AUHIP). The agreement is a step towards the peaceful resolution of outstanding issues as required by the African Union Peace and Security Council Roadmap and the United Nations Security Council Resolution

"The Republic of South Sudan has been engaged in good faith negotiations to settle all of the Disputed and Claimed areas with a goal of securing agreement by the 2 August deadline.
